Sarah Hobbs
Life’s too short to wait, Conor gave us confidence to start living it.
My name is Sarah Hobbs. My husband and I have both been with O’Sullivan’s for four years now, and we are looked after by Conor.
When we first spoke to Conor, the intention was to amalgamate lots of different little pensions and ISAs that we had, and savings, and this lump sum that came about from removing myself from the family business.
The original idea was to work out how to best get a return on the investments that we had and amalgamate them all together.
We had a business accountant who recommended O’Sullivan’s to us, and I reached out to them. Conor was the one who replied, and I think having that professional recommendation gave me a lot of confidence in the company as well.
We like working with Conor because he is straight-talking. He doesn’t use an awful lot of jargon, so it’s easy for us who are not financially minded to understand what he is recommending, and he does what he says he’s going to do. He’s also very approachable and responds rapidly if you’ve got any queries. I just like the fact that it was made as simple as it could be for somebody who isn’t an accountant to decide what to do with our money going forward.
I’ve gone from having a monthly income to this payment that I got from the business and then having to decide how we would live month to month. So that changed, but also having had the loss of a very good friend at a relatively early age made us think twice about our bucket list and how quickly we wanted to do things moving forward. And in the last 18 months, we’ve done quite a lot of travelling. We’ve got a lot coming up as well, and to have the confidence to book those things has been important to me and especially my husband, because I have gone a little bit mad with booking the holidays.
It’s just nice to have somebody guiding you quietly, you know, not pushing you, not trying to get you to invest in certain things, but just guiding you and listening. To me, that’s the most important thing, you know; he listens to what we need.
I have a lot of confidence in the future. I know we’ll be okay, which is lovely, and I’m very, very blessed. But having the knowledge and the wisdom that comes with the years that Conor’s been doing this is very, very reassuring for us as a couple.
The best piece of advice that we’ve had from Conor is to not jump into anything without thinking about it. You know, we haven’t been rushed into anything. We’ve always had time to consider what our options are, what we want to do, and having a variety of options has been very, very helpful.
Conor is a professional and personable, easy-to-get-along-with and easy-to-chat-to gentleman, and
he’s done for us over the last four years a very, very good job. You know, we’ve had a really good return on our investment, as well as making it easy to do that because of how he is; you know, his professional behaviour has been impeccable. So yes, I would absolutely recommend Conor and O’Sullivan Financial Planning.
